Here are my five favorite ways to make money online, build a business on the back of Social Media, without any prior investment and work from home, or work from anywhere, for that matter, in 2022. 

 

Seems like everyone is looking for ways to build their brand or business and monetize it. Social Media has become an extremely lucrative way to make that happen. 

Being successful and making a living with Social Media does NOT mean you need a huge following. With some of these methods you can start TODAY, even with a tiny audience.

1. Placing Ads on your blog and Youtube

In this post we will discuss monetizing your Youtube channel, your blog, your website, your instagram and other ways that have nothing to do with advertisement, nothing to do with the number of followers you have and that you can start right away.

The number one way that you can immediately start to monetize your website or Youtube is by joining Google AdSense Program, by placing advertisements in your website, your blog and inside your Youtube Channel. No other platform will pay you directly inside the platform, but Youtube and Blogging will.

Of course, there are some requirements for a Youtube channel to be monetized. You will need a minimum of 1000 subscribers and 40000 watch hours to prove that your material is worthy for the advertisers.

Regarding your blog, you need consistent and authentic material, to be approved by Google AdSense. You will also need to have consistent traffic in order to make a good income out of that.

Truth be told, it will not be enough for you to make a good living out of it so it cannot be the only way for you to earn money online, even if you have thousands of clicks or views.

2. Having a physical or digital Product

Truth be told, it will not be enough for you to make a good living out of it so it cannot be the only way for you to earn money online, even if you have thousands of clicks or views.

Placing advertisements on your Youtube channel, blog or website it’s easy, but you could also do something else. You could have a product, which can be a physical or a digital product.

For example, you could make handmade items, you could make some personalized T-shirts, you could have a book, a cooking book, a nutrition book. You could create an e-book, which is a digital/electronic book and does not require publishing, or hard copies.

One of the problems is that you will need an audience, you will need traffic that goes towards this product in order to sell a higher number.

The other way around exists as well, that you already have an audience and then you create a product to monetize this audience.

Most of us just want to have more followers so we can start selling a product. This is very achiavable. You can start posting and start sharing about this product you have. You can start to entice some interest, you can start conversations online, on Social Media, on forums, wherever you feel your ideal audience is, and increase interest about your product, before even trying to sell it.

3. Offering an Online Service

The third is my favorite because it’s also the one I use the most. Offering an online service. On one side, you could be a contractor or a freelancer; on the other side you could just decide to start offering what you know as a coach, or consultant, especially if you’ve worked for years as… let’s say, in finance, technology, branding, marketing, copywriting, and so on…

You can start offering your expertise to help others, as a coach, consultant, or just providing a service as a freelance, or independent contractor.

These can be promoted to your existing audience, even if you only have 100 or 200 followers. It doesn’t mean that you don’t have an agency, or you don’t have a company and you can’t offer a service. It is so easy to register yourself as an Entrepreneur (Sole Proprietorship), or Freelancer, and start to leverage your followers by offering a service.

If you are a real beginner, and want to invest no money, you can become a Virtual Assistant, or after getting some more knowledge, you could be a Social Media Manager, or Instagram Manager, like me.

I started to learn about it while I was still on my 9-5 (most of the time 9 to 7) office job, plus having a 3 hours commute daily by train. I was learning everything I needed to know about Digital Marketing and Instagram, I was reading about it during weekends, during my commute; and when I decided to pursue this path, I took business courses, I took Digital Marketing Courses by WHARTON.

You can do the same and you can start transforming your Passion, into service, into Profit, even if it’s just during the afternoons, or the weekends.

In today’s digital world everything is possible. Believe me, if i did it, I’m just normal, anyone can do it.

4. Brand Collaborations and Sponsorships

Let’s get to the fourth way which are Brand Collaborations and Sponsorships. It seems like everyone loves it, like all the creators and influencers can’t wait to have more followers, or a lot of followers to get sponsored. And truth be told, there is money to be made there. I’ve seen it myself. I’m just a micro-influencer, I have a little over 15.000 followers, but even when I had less than 10.000, I had good opportunities. I’ve worked with Godaddy, Furla, Sandro, I’ve worked with Amazon Prime and other brands that I was proud to work with and i’m still proud about those partnerships.

My advice here is to focus on online platforms where you can go and apply on brand deals. Don’t just expect for brands to come to you. And as per experience, the serious brands are reaching out to very big influencers, no one reached out to me with 10.000 or 15.000 followers. I was the one doing the outreach.

You can also reach out to local brands, even a local agency, a local restaurant, hotel, or shop you like. This can be done by sending them an email, by explaining how they would benefit from you promoting their brand or products or services. 

You could be small, but you could be very focused in one niche, and be very engaged with your audience. That is powerful.

5. Affiliate Marketing

The fifth way is quite simple, it’s called Affiliate Marketing. All big companies, retailers, agencies, basically every established business can give you that only you use to promote their products, or services, and give you a commission based on your sales.

Keep in mind that you will only get paid for the sales you are making. So, all the time you spend to promote them, will not be paid. To me, it is not very fair, but it does not require any investment from your side. This makes it a great way to start.

The commission is quite small, but if you have a blog where you promote the products you’re using and you put the link, which is your affiliate link, you will get a small commission out of everything that gets sold from your referrals. If sales are not enough, you will need to generate more traffic towards your links. This works very well for bloggers and youtubers, where you can mention some products you’re using yourself and attach your affiliate links.

You can just describe or talk about your favorite products and recommend what you especially love about those.

If you love promoting, you can definitely try, and then again, you don’t need any investment. All you need as a start, is to register on one of the platforms, like Amazon, or Share A Sale, get your affiliate links, promote them in original ways and get your commission for every sale that you make.

  2. I really enjoyed this post. I think that it was well laid out and truth be told I would not have even put in any kind of thought about making a consulting avenue around it. I am more of an affiliate marketer and when I talk to people I just want to help them achieve their goals. I do think that you have hit the head with the consulting though. I am going to have to look more into that avenue in the near future.
